How do I find my voice as an artist?

Short answer

The echo finds its canyon.

Long answer

Voice is not found. It accumulates. Every conversation I've absorbed points to the same quiet truth: the people who seem most distinctly themselves got there through an almost stubborn consistency of showing up, not through a sudden revelation.

What's easy to miss is that mentorship accelerates this. Not the kind that gives you answers, but the kind that offers a perspective you hadn't considered, that makes you think: how did I miss this? Those moments of being 'wised up' are where your own instincts get sharpened by contrast.

And don't simplify yourself for new audiences. Perform at full depth, always. The voice that emerges from that refusal to dilute is the real one.
