What do cameras do?

I have a very strange relationship with the camera. I use it and yet I am afraid of it. Photography as a formal medium is such an incredibly difficult way because you are looking through an instrument and then you still need to figure out how you make the image that your eye wants. I find it very difficult. I feel like I have never taken a photograph that my eye and I are both in agreement.

And yet I use the camera because I use snapshots, detailed snapshots that I take of the space or the building or the street, bring them back into my studio and then work through photographs. So in a way photography has been guiding me, but in a very scared, sheepish way.
