What is the importance of a goof typeface?

We have so many scripts and languages in such a diverse country. But there is something quite ironic about not having enough typefaces to represent them. If you compare the quantity of Indic typefaces to the Latin or Chinese world of typefaces, the difference is massive.

More typefaces means variety to choose from. If you think of text typefaces and display typefaces, display is what you use for larger point sizes, for headings, posters. Those display typefaces, there are not as many as you would like. So if you want to make a heading or a poster in a heavy Devanagari, your choices narrow fast.

The visual landscape around us is so rich. All you have to do is walk around and you will find good and bad examples everywhere. All the building blocks are there. It is just a matter of time.
