Why should we ask questions?

Short answer

The answer questions the question.

Long answer

There is a craft to asking questions. You warm the scene first, then go deeper. You ask about form and style, yes, but also about inspiration, training, and where someone sees themselves going. The question is never just a request for information. It is an invitation into a life.

But here is what I find most interesting. In theater, they say there are only so many plots in the world. What matters is how you tell the story. Questions work the same way. The familiar ones open the door. The deeper ones reveal how a person truly holds their craft.

Ask questions not to collect answers, but to find out how someone sees. That seeing is the real thing you are after.
